EPI-NO Studies - Completed

EPI-NO Studies currently underway:

Marie-Claude Bouchard-Richard, MD, Obstetrics-Gynecology, Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Sherbrooke is currently conducting a randomized controlled trial to study the effectiveness of EPI-NO in Canada. The project presented to the research ethics committee and began in 2008.

Another Australian EPI-NO Clinical Trial is underway. The new trial at Nepean Hospital, Penrith is studying 200 women expecting their first baby, and the potential protective effect of EPI-NO on the pelvic floor.

The clinical EPI-NO study of Dr. Dietz, associate professor at the University of Sidney, started in January 2006 to prove a significant decrease in the risk of pelvic floor trauma by using EPI-NO Delphine Plus for birth preparation with 200 patients. This study will require a longer time to complete as it's obviously difficult to attain women for the control group (preparation without EPI-NO)

Dr. Marlene Sinclair, University of Ulster, (United Kingdom) is undertaking a research project to examine the experiences of pregnant woman, who have used the birthing simulation technology of EPI-NO. The results of this project will be used to inform health professionals and women about this new technology and may influence service provision in the future. Dr. Sinclair intends to survey 100 women in 5 countries (UK, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland and Australia).
